7 Free Marketing Tools Everyone Should Be Using.

Regardless of the type of business you operate, marketing and advertisement is an important factor for success. And that doesn't always mean having to spend thousands of dollars to produce high quality digital marketing!

Below is a list of free or freemium tools that anyone can use to enhance their digital marketing. Most of these are not too complicated and will save you lots of money.

Our advice is to try these out and get a feel for what works well for your business needs so you can make an informed decision when it comes time to hiring a marketing agency.

1) Canva - Creative Design

Canva is an absolutely awesome tool for anyone looking to create professional looking marketing materials. It's a powerful drag & drop designer that is completely free (there is a premium version that gets you extra features)

You get a massive amount of templates (Flyers, Business Cards, Social Media Posts etc.) to choose from and it also has plenty of free stock images.

What We Love: The best part is just how simple and intuitive the experience is. Even a total beginner will have no issue navigating the site and create stunning designs in less than 10 minutes.

2) Buffer - Social Media Management

Buffer is a tool that helps manage your social media accounts. The free version lets you connect all of your accounts and schedule up to 10 posts.

That's a great time saver for those wanting to schedule their content in advance. This way you do not find yourself panicking to create a post that needs to be uploaded ASAP (we've all been there)

What We Love: The free version is perfect for an entrepreneur or a small business looking to increase their presence on social media. This simple tool helps you stay consistent with your posting strategy.

3) Hubspot - Customer Relationship Manager (CRM)

Hubspot is a one of the biggest names in marketing and sales. The full (paid) version provides an entire suite of functionality, however, the free version gives plenty of value, especially if you are just getting started with using a CRM for your business.

For free, Hubspot will manage your email marketing campaigns, create and distribute lead capture forms, build basic sales funnels and has a solid reporting dashboard.

What We Love: The ability to manage all of your contacts, lead funnels and marketing campaigns makes it much easier to stay on top of your communication, making sure those leads become customers.

4) InShot - Video Editing (Mobile)

InShot is a really cool app that lets you do all kinds of simple but creative edits to videos/photos. With the free version, you can add/remove music and sound effects, overlay text or images on video, add stickers/logos to videos and many other nifty functions that we use almost daily.

If you've ever wondered how to make those cool Instagram videos, you should check out InShot.

What We Love: Creating effective video collages for social media posts. This is especially good if you want to layer multiple text boxes or graphics over a video. We have found a number of ways to use this both professionally and personally.

Desktop Option: iMovie

5) Google Analytics - Website & Social Media Traffic

Google is the powerhouse of data and analytics, so it is not wonder that their analytics tool is a must have for anyone with a website. The amount of info you can get can seems overwhelming as it provides incredible insight, however, even if used on a basic level, the analytics will give you a clear window into what's working and what needs to be optimized.

What We Love: If you are using G Suite, it integrates across all of your apps and helps you stay ahead of the curve. We use it to understand where website traffic is coming from and then build marketing campaigns using this insight.

6) Facebook Pixel: - Lead Conversion & Journey Mapping

Facebook has matured quite a bit in its analytics and advertisement department. Though the Facebook Pixel provides similar data to Google Analytics, the reason we included in the list is the powerful ability of Pixel to generate lead conversion campaigns.

If you are running ads on Facebook/Instagram, you NEED to have Pixel embedded into your website. If used properly, this tool is like a superpower for your ad targeting. We encourage you to research it more in-depth for yourself, but this one is a must-have.

What We Love: The ability to re-target ads based on very specific criteria gives us a huge insight into what stage of interest a prospective customer is and how best to communicate to them. The other function that is worth its weight in gold is the Lookalike Audience, letting you create target demographics based on your existing customers and their attributes.

7) Social Media: - Marketing, Sales, Brand Awareness

Social Media is a big umbrella term we've been throwing around for a while! It's ubiquitous in use, yet it is still very misunderstood and mis-characterized.

Whether we're talking Facebook or Tik-Tok, it is simply the way our current society chooses to communicate. The misconception of social media being good or bad often times leads to insecurity about using it for promotion.

We want to challenge your thinking on this by providing an analogy:

Social media is basically interactive TV. Just like there are different channels for different demographics on TV, social media has a number of platforms that cater to different people. If you can tap into the 1 or 2 that your customers/prospects use the most and then engage with them in an authentic, consistent way...the results will blow you away!

What We Love: Having the ability to create a post, image or video and post it FOR FREE. Then being able to interact with people in real-time who are interested in what you had to say! 25 years ago, this would either cost thousands of dollars or not be possible at all!

So no ore excuses, go out there and start talking to your customers and finding out what they like and what they don't! This is the best and cheapest tool at your disposal, don't let it go to waste!
